Olson celebrates 20 years
By TAMMI KATE LEDFORD
Nick Olson, curator at the XIT Museum, celebrated his twentieth anniversary on May 2. “I remember my first day at the museum, my son Christian was born the day before and I came to Dalhart with my dad for Orville Finch’s book signing.” Olson and his wife, Jeanet, were looking for a smaller town and her parents owned a ranch here and farmed. Olsen moved his wife, infant son and three year old daughter, Samantha, to the family farm outside of Dalhart.
Texas Drought Report
DROUGHT CONDITIONS: Recent rains have resulted in a slight improvement in drought conditions; however, statewide reservoir levels have not yet rebounded. Parents waited impatiently while First Responders searched the rubble that was once a school for their most priceless possession; children.
