Big turn out for team roping event

More than 100 teams participated in the team-roping event held Sunday at the XIT Arena, starting the week of rodeo events in celebration of the 79th Annual XIT Rodeo and Reunion.

The 2015 Junior Rodeo was held Saturday, giving rodeo spectators a chance to watch the future of PRCA in action. Kids in four age divisions with their eye on a buckle competed in nine different events including goat ribbon, barrels, poles, flags, calf riding, daubing, steer riding, breakaway, and bull riding.

The Dallam-Hartley Hospital District Board met on Thursday night, July 30. A budget hearing was held at 7 p.m. CEO Leroy Schaffner went over the budget in detail. There were 14 pages covering all areas of the Coon Memorial Hospital District, including the hospital, Legacy and Coon Memorial Home.
